BANGKOK CURFEW UPDATE 26/05/2010 – All the bars were open in Soi Cowboy last night. In Nana Plaza the go-go bars were open except for the Crown Groups bars. Down in Patpong Soi 2 Bar Bar are open from 2:00pm until 10:00pm for the duration of the curfew. Considering the early hours and the heavy rain, there is quite a good number of bar girls turning up for work. The curfew starts at midnight and ends at 4:00am on Saturday, May 29th.
WARNING! The curfew is serious and starts at midnight until 4:00am. Be aware that a lot of taxi drivers are refusing to take customers from 11:00pm onwards. This especially applies if your destination is some distance. Some notorious taxi drivers are demanding extortionate amounts of money. Therefore, do not leave it too late before you make the journey back to your room. Stickman had to zoom off on a motorbike taxi, because no metered taxi wanted to take him last night.
BANGKOK CURFEW UPDATE – The Thai government has extended the curfew in Bangkok and 23 other provinces for another 4 nights. The curfew now runs until 4:00am on Saturday, May 29th (unless extended again). The times are also revised – midnight until 4:00am. The bars in Bangkok including Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza should remain open until at least 11:00pm-11:30pm for the next 4 nights.

NANA PLAZA UPDATE (3:50 PM) – Spankys and Rainbow 1 will be open in Nana Plaza tonight. Spankys will open at 6:00 PM and both Spankys and the Rainbow Bars will see how long they can open for. The imposed curfew in Bangkok commences at 11:00pm until 5:00am.

BANGKOK CURFEW EXTENDED (2:00 PM) – Thai PM Abhisit announced today that the revised curfew in Bangkok will be extended Sunday through to Monday night. Note that the revised times are from 11:00pm until 5:00am. With ongoing security procedures, this is for the safety of the general public. The Thai security forces have found huge stashes of automatic rifles, ammunition, M79 grenade launchers and many types of bombs. (The Nation and Bangkok Post)
URGENT UPDATE (1:00 PM) – The Thai government has lifted the curfew in Pattaya, but extended it in Bangkok. Tonight the extended curfew is imposed from 11:00pm until 5:00am and said to be revised on a day to day basis.
