Behind, the World’s Smallest Go-Go Bar, Opens in Nana Plaza

If you thought every available unit in Nana Plaza was already rented, then you’ve not been “Behind” the Soi 4 complex to find the world’s smallest go-go bar.

Located in the former employee-only convenience store, under the main staircase, next to the elevator and fire hoses, Behind is the appropriate named bar that opened earlier this month.

Until now, K-69 (the former Private 69/Rainbow 69/Casanova) held the title for the smallest go-go bar in Nana Plaza at just 84 sq. meters. But this tiny bar blows that record away, leaving everyone with the question of “why?”.

Just how small is it? There’s no stage – no room for one – just three chrome poles bolted into the floor. There are two bench seats with four tables total. There’s no LED stage lighting, just some LED strips around the edge of the ceiling. The sound system is a large boom box.

It’s so small, you have to go outside to change your mind. It’s so tiny, all the girls wait outside. If you happen to come down the elevator and walk in, the bar will be empty.

And empty it has been since opening. In fact, it was hard to even find the girls, although the manager promised that, if you sit down, they’d go find them. So you can bet the ladies are not wandering around the Nana courtyard in a bikini.

Behind the 8-Ball

If the three most important factors for a successful bar are “location, location, location”  then the bar has begun what undoubtedly will be a short lifespan behind the proverbial 8-ball. If you’ve never taken the elevator, you probably can’t even envision where it is. There’s a small arrow with “Behind” on it attached to the stairs, but most people would say “Behind what?”

You have to think the Thai owner would make more money with the convenience store, which was not open to the public but sold snacks, energy drinks and sundries to dancers and staff at Nana Plaza tenant bars.

At least ringing the bell in Behind won’t bust the bank!
