The revival of Soi 7 after years of Covid-induced decline may seem like one of Pattaya’s best feel-good stories, but the truth behind the tale is far less uplifting, with the bar street’s resurgence driven in part by the dethroned king of Soi 6, Bryan Flowers, and fronted by popular YouTuber Nick Dean.
Dean, the British creator behind NDtvi Thailand, has spent the past few years pushing his “Make Soi 7 Great Again” campaign, opening bars, filming construction and promoting the street to a large online audience. British investigative journalist Andrew Drummond, a former Fleet Street reporter who has spent years investigating Flowers and his Night Wish operation, has repeatedly reported a deeper financial and business relationship between the two men.
Bryan Flowers arrived on Soi 7 carrying considerably more baggage than Dean. His once-dominant Night Wish operation on Soi 6 was rocked by a human-trafficking case involving Flirt Bar, one of the group’s venues, while his wife, Punnipa Flowers, received a three-year prison sentence for operating an illegal prostitution business and appealed. Bryan Flowers was not charged in the case. Drummond reported extensively on the case and its impact on Night Wish.
Flowers rejects Drummond’s portrayal of him. In a Feb. 10 NDtvi interview, he said there were “no charges against me” in Thailand, accused Drummond of publishing lies and called the coverage harassment. Dean told Flowers the criticism looked like “a wee bit of a witch hunt.”
Dean Becomes the Face of Soi 7
Dean came to Soi 7 with a much cleaner public profile than Bryan Flowers. His NDtvi channel focuses on bar openings, construction, Pattaya news, restaurants and the daily business of nightlife, making him the natural public salesman for a street trying to recover after Covid and hte face for an investor who couldn’t do that job himself.
Drummond reported that Dean and Bryan Flowers invested together in the A7 hotel, a restaurant and a large LED-signage business. In the same report, he said Night Wish handled online promotion for Dean’s bars and that Punnipa Flowers organized baht-bus advertising for Hedonism and A7 DJ Bar.
By late 2025, according to Drummond, Dean held leases on six Soi 7 bars. Drummond described him as one of Flowers’ business partners and later called him Flowers’ “lieutenant” on Soi 7.
By February 2026, Dean’s portfolio had fallen from six bars to three, and Drummond reported that Flowers was “bank-rolling the project.”
Dean was the man viewers saw touring building sites, announcing openings and pushing “Make Soi 7 Great Again.” Drummond’s reporting alleges that Flowers supplied money and Night Wish support behind part of that expansion.
Dean Defends Flowers on NDtvi
Dean has also publicly defended Bryan Flowers on his YouTube channel.
On Feb. 5, he devoted an NDtvi video to Flowers’ developing polo club outside Pattaya and openly mocked reports that Flowers had fled Thailand. Five days later, Dean brought him back for a longer interview dealing directly with allegations surrounding Flowers and his businesses.
“If you don’t talk, people create your narrative for you,” Flowers told Dean while accusing his critics of spreading false allegations.
Dean described the criticism as looking like “a wee bit of a witch hunt” and gave Flowers considerable time to answer Drummond.
“This isn’t journalism,” Flowers said. “This is harassment.”
Flowers also rejected suggestions that his Pattaya businesses were collapsing. He said Night Wish had deliberately reduced its reliance on foreign managers because they caused too many internal problems.
“99% of our business problems were from managers,” Flowers said.
He told Dean he remained “one of the owners” on Soi 6 and described it as still his “main business.” In the Feb. 5 video, after discussing his travel between Thailand, Britain, Argentina and Cambodia, Flowers said: “I’m not going anywhere. Things are going well.”
In both videos, Dean gave Bryan Flowers plenty of room to attack Drummond and reject claims that his Pattaya businesses were in decline.
MacTV Moves From Soi 6 to Soi 7
Dean is not the only Soi 7 YouTuber with roots in Night Wish.
Mac, creator of MacTV, previously worked as a Night Wish manager on Soi 6 before opening Deluzion on Soi 7 and promoting the bar through his channel. Drummond identified Mac as a former Night Wish manager and recently went further in Facebook comments on Facebook.
Responding to a reader’s comments about Bryan Flowers working with Dean on Soi 7, Drummond replied: “and MacTV with Deluzion”.
Soi 7 Starts Filling Up Again
Hedonism and A7 helped establish the first major post-Covid cluster, while Bar Se7en and Deluzion have emerged as two of the street’s strongest performers. Sources on Soi 7 say the two bars are currently doing the best trade, with Bar Se7en benefiting heavily from its location directly across from Flipper House hotel.
Flipper House fits the traditional Soi 7 customer base unusually well: budget-conscious foreign visitors staying in the middle of Pattaya’s nightlife. The hotel has long been part of the street’s bar-and-budget-hotel ecosystem, putting Bar Se7en directly in front of a steady stream of potential customers already there for the nightlife. Sources on the street cite that location and customer fit as the main reason Bar Se7en has performed so well.
Deluzion, run by former Night Wish manager Mac and promoted heavily through MacTV, has also been drawing strong trade. Mystic followed with a substantial new build, while Dream Bar is preparing to open next door with another major investment in sound, lighting, LEDs and dancers.
Dean invested in businesses, promoted Soi 7 when large stretches were still dead and used NDtvi to document construction and openings. Drummond’s reporting alleges that Flowers and Dean had joint investments and that Night Wish resources supported Dean’s bars. Months later, Drummond reported that Flowers was still bankrolling Dean’s Soi 7 operation after Dean’s portfolio had contracted.
Soi 7’s Revival Goes Beyond Flowers and Dean
The street’s recovery is broader than the Flowers-Dean operation. Blackwoods brought a more modern boutique-hotel product to Soi 7, while the old Eastiny Seven Hotel is now undergoing a major redevelopment directly across from Puttaya Glow. Eastiny Seven was a three-star, roughly 90-room hotel; local sources say the rebuilt property is intended to move sharply upmarket, reportedly into the same general boutique bracket as Blackwoods.
Puttaya Glow has added another type of investment to the street. The former Pig & Whistle property now combines 16 hotel rooms with neon mini golf, golf simulators, a sports bar and a top-floor club, adding a mixed hotel-and-entertainment project to the changing strip.
One source familiar with Soi 7 said the recovery is bigger than Bryan Flowers and Dean, with new bars, hotel upgrades and entertainment projects all helping revive a street that spent years struggling after Covid. The source welcomed the investment but said Bryan Flowers’ involvement tarnished what should otherwise be a positive story for Soi 7, given the Bryan Flowers’ reputation and the controversy surrounding Night Wish.

Soi 7’s Revival and the Flowers Connection
Amid all the developments, it has still been Nick Dean’s name most closely associated with Soi 7’s revival. He opened businesses, promoted the street and turned its rebuilding into regular NDtvi content.
But Drummond’s reporting ties Dean and Bryan Flowers through joint investments and Night Wish promotional support, while a later report says Flowers was still bankrolling Dean’s Soi 7 project in February.
Dean has repeatedly defended Bryan Flowers on NDtvi, while Flowers has used the channel to deny that his business empire is collapsing and to accuse Drummond of harassment and false reporting.
Dean may be the public face of a major part of Soi 7’s comeback. According to Drummond, Bryan Flowers has also been helping pay for it.
