Pattaya’s Dragon a-GoGo Casting Off Last Pin-Up Group Vestiges with October Revamp

Pattaya’s Dragon a-GoGo Club will cast off the last vestiges of its Pin-Up Group origins next month with a major renovation that won’t require the Walking Street bar to close.

Dragon – formerly Opium – was sold to a Turkish group in April and quickly changed the stupid name – one that couldn’t be searched for on Facebook due to owner Meta’s anti-drug policy – and rebuilt its lineup.

In the ensuing five months, Dragon a-GoGo has been infused with fresh life and ideas. The managing partner and Troy, the Turkish American, have imbued Dragon with a friendly and welcoming vibe, unlike the Pin-Up bars which are infamous for rogue security guards who doubled as hostesses.

After selling Dragon a-GoGo, the Pin-Up Group bought the Apple and Glass House go-go bars and combined them into the new Atmos.

Dragon a-GoGo Revamp

Dragon a-GoGo’s major investors will be in Thailand next month and will launch a major renovation of the club, which, to date, has only changed all the sofa’s from the easily stained gold color to black.

The first thing on the revamp schedule is to replace the entire roof, which management said they have “hated” since buying the bar. The recessed, somewhat reflective ceiling above the bar will be ripped out and the entire ceiling across the bar repainted.

New lighting will be the next step, with management saying the current lights are too bright and too plentiful. Lasers and other moving lights will be added to give Dragon a-GoGo a clubbier feel.

Then will come the design aspects to give Dragon a-GoGo more personality and a closer connection to its brand. Could we see smoke-breathing dragons hanging from that new ceiling? Don’t rule it out!

All the renovation work will be done overnight and during the day before the bars opens. Dragon will not be closing.

More Hotties Every Week

Opium had the weakest lineup of any Pin-Up Group bar and the new owners have spent five months recruiting new and better talent, while also dressing the ladies if some of Walking Street’s best outfits, including the sizzling, fire engine-red leatherette skirts, tops and bikinis, which matching red stockings.

During a Dragon a-GoGo visit Sunday night, the lineup was markedly better than just two months ago. Manager Troy said the bar also has a lot more girls on the payroll, with 75 now working on busy nights, nearly double from early summer.

On Walking Street, where major groups dominate with multiple venues, it’s refreshing to see independent go-go bars with young owners such as Identi, Jisoo and Dragon a-GoGo. They bring fresh ideas and new energy to a street much in need of it.
