The U.S. Navy has gone home, leaving Pattaya’s nightlife industry holding on and gearing up for high season.
Some bars are opening. Some are closing. Unlike Bangkok, where things have run at a low ebb throughout low season, there’s always something happening with Pattaya’s nightlife. Here’s the latest wrapup:
Showgirls Closes for 2-Month Overhaul
The Showgirls go-go bar on LK Metro has closed for about two months for a major refurbishment that aims to turn the club into a copy of the sleazy Kink bar next door.
Previously operating only on the ground floor, the renovation will redevelop the upper floor, reportedly for another over-the-top, hands-on experience like that which has been so successful at Kink and other tawdry venues on Pattaya’s nightlife scene.
Kink’s upstairs appeals to the low-brow Windmill crowd and many of the women debasing themselves previously worked at the Soi Diamond clubs. They’re simply older and fatter now.
Will Showgirls fare any better? It’s hard to find any attractive women that submit themselves to that sort of exploitation, so don’t hold your breath.
The Party Starts Sept. 9
After months of anticipation and delays, The Party on Walking Street Soi 15 opens its three floors Wednesday in a low-season bright spot for Pattaya’s nightlife.
The Party is more than a go-go. It’s a three-floor entertainment center, with the former Shark Club and Jisoo go-go bar on the ground floor, VIP karaoke rooms on the middle floor and a swimming pool party bar on the roof.
Another Gents Club for Pratamnak Soi 4
A new gentlemen’s club has quietly opened on Pratamnak Soi 4 in a formerly Chinese-owned townhouse bringing more of Pattaya’s nightlife to the hill.
Called Lat Si, the venue includes a small private swimming pool at the rear, suggesting a more residential or pool-villa-style setup than a conventional Pattaya gents club. Little else is known about the operation so far.
Russian-Korean BDSM Club Opens on Walking Street
The former Walking Street Bar, where the 50s-era car still hangs in the walkway, has reopened as a BDSM bar called X-Club, using the new Twitter logo “X” in its name.
Lots of Korean signage has people thinking its aimed at that crowd with Russian woman acting as the doms. So there are a few good reasons not to go to this Pattaya’s nightlife venue.
Danny’s Sports Bar Expands on Soi Buakhao
Danny’s Sports Bar is opening a second Soi Buakhao venue in the former Cafe Patini, a few doors from Candy Club. The new location is an expansion rather than a replacement for the existing Danny’s, with fit-out work underway and the possibility of a larger food offering once it opens.
Pattaya’s Nightlife Adds Central Market & 30 Beer Bars
A large new beer-bar complex is boosting Pattaya’s nightlife on Soi Buakhao. Called Central Market, it’s taking shape opposite Central Festival on Second Road, on the road connecting Second Road with Soi Buakhao near the Witherspoons bend.
About 30 bars had been built by the end of last month, with room for more. Drinks run about 90 baht, with car and motorbike parking available. The bars reportedly had no individual toilets, instead relying on shared paid facilities. The development also includes ladyboy bars and an adjoining food market.
Dream Bar Targets Sept. 18 Opening on Soi 7
Dream Bar is targeting a Sept. 18 opening on Pattaya’s Soi 7, with the build largely complete and the main delay down to LED panels arriving from China.
The 28-seat bar will feature a curved LED frontage, upgraded sound and lighting, two or three poles for coyote dancers, strong air conditioning and outside seating. Rock Sound is handling the sound, lighting and LED installation.
An earlier soft opening remains possible if the final LED work is finished in time. Dream follows Mystique as another significant new investment in Soi 7’s continuing post-Covid revival.
Second Road Resurfacing Continues
Road resurfacing was underway at the southern end of Second Road, with crews working one side at a time to keep traffic moving.
The phased work was expected to continue into early October and possibly longer, adding another construction headache for motorists already dealing with Pattaya’s numerous road projects.
