Soi Cowboy is set to go Supernova in February, following seven months of renovation, administrative delays and a full reset at the former Kazy Kozy corner.
Nothing remains of the Kazy Kozy identity at the corner of Soi Cowboy and Soi 23, a location that has gone through multiple incarnations over the years.
Supernova is now wrapped in a Greco-Roman exterior featuring bricked walls, arched windows and faux marble columns. While the design echoes Orbit in Nana Plaza, there is no connection between the two venues, and the Crazy House Group has confirmed the similarity is coincidental.
Inside Supernova, a low stage runs the length of the bar, with two support pillars, similar to the stage layout in the Crazy House Group’s Bad Beach go-go. But that stage is wider.
Bench seating rims three sides of the Supernova stage with the bar at the back near the stairs, just as it was laid out during the Kazy Kozy go-go days.
Signage for Supernova – include a huge go-go girl wearing a cowboy hat – appeared just before New Year’s, shortly after construction resumed following a district-ordered work stoppage earlier in December.
Stop-Work Order & Sewage Complaints
Renovation work at the site was temporarily halted in early December when Watthana District officials issued a stop-work order after receiving multiple public complaints.
District authorities cited drainage and sanitation problems as a central issue, stating that construction activity interfered with existing drainage along the public way at the corner of Soi Cowboy and Soi 23.
A formal district notice points the finger at Kazy Kozy for the recent “Sewer Cowboy” situation. Water that should have flowed into municipal drains instead pooled on the sidewalk and roadway in front of the premises.
Ironically, none of that water ever pooled outside Kazy Kozy.
Officials said the standing water produced persistent foul odors and unsanitary conditions, prompting complaints from pedestrians and neighboring businesses.
The district treated the drainage issue as a public health concern rather than a minor nuisance, requiring corrective action before work could continue.
The stop-work order also cited other violations, including sidewalk encroachment, welding conducted without proper safety barriers and the construction of structural extensions that may not have been permitted.
Officials flagged several additions for review, including a large steel awning and raised flooring.
Construction resumed in late December after the initial halt, though the owner was instructed to clear outstanding documentation and address the cited issues, with unapproved elements subject to modification or removal pending review by the Public Works Department.

A Clean Break From Kazy Kozy
Kazy Kozy closed in June 2025, with ownership saying at the time that the venue would shut for several months for renovation and return as a go-go bar.
The space, long known in earlier decades as The Old Dutch, most recently was operating as a music bar at the time under the Crazy House Group, which also runs 5-Star as its other music-focused venue on Soi Cowboy.
Kazy Kozy Originally a Go-Go Bar
The Kazy Kozy name was first introduced as a go-go concept in March 2019, promoted as a two-level venue with different formats on each floor. The downstairs area was pitched as a lighter, bikini-style bar, while the upstairs was intended to follow a darker Crazy House model. That structure never fully materialized, with staffing shortages keeping the upstairs largely closed.
The venue struggled to find a stable identity during its initial run. Early reactions were mixed, and expectations that it would operate as a second Crazy House were never met.
Kazy Kozy later shut down during the early coronavirus period and returned in 2022 as a live-music venue, replacing the go-go format with bands.
That version of Kazy Kozy drew some traffic but eventually faced stronger competition from established live-music rooms on the strip. By mid-2025, ownership indicated it was ready to abandon the music format and attempt another reset.
Supernova Takes Over the Corner
Supernova represents a full replacement rather than another revival of the Kazy Kozy name. The previous branding has been completely erased from the property, with a new exterior, new concept and a planned relaunch aimed at repositioning the corner venue within Soi Cowboy’s current lineup.
With signage now installed and construction back underway after December’s interruption, the long transition from Kazy Kozy to Supernova appears to be entering its final stage.
If the February timeline holds, the venue will soon join a strip that has seen several major resets over the past year, as operators continue to rework older spaces in response to changing competition and customer traffic on Soi Cowboy.
