Songkran 2026 Brings New Bars, Cheap Beer, Daytime Chaos to Soi Cowboy

Songkran 2026 brings a wave of new bars to Soi Cowboy’s Thai New Year party, soaking the Neon Alley end-to-end with water and cheap beers from morning until night.

Vicky’s Secret and Bad Beach and Rainbow are joining the Songkran 2026 celebration this year for the first time, joining Suzie Wong, Baccara, Moonshine Joint, Jungle Jim’s, Fanny’s, Toy Bar, Shark Go-Go Club and The Dollhouse in opening their patio bars during the daytime, many with happy hour specials all day.

For three days, April 13-15, Soi Cowboy will stop feeling like a normal nightlife street and turn into one giant water fight stretching from Asoke Montri Road to Soi 23.

By early afternoon, most of the street is expected to be shoulder-to-shoulder with tourists, expats, bargirls and service staff carrying water guns and buckets.

Vicky’s Secret Goes All In

This will be the first Songkran for Vicky’s Secret and the bar is making sure people notice.

The venue plans to open from 2 p.m. with Happy Hour running all day and night.

Local beers, Johnnie Walker Red, tequila shots, two soju shots and house gin and vodka drinks will all be priced at 100 baht.

That makes Vicky’s one of the more aggressive value plays on the street this year, especially for customers planning to spend the whole afternoon bouncing between patios.

Suzie Wong Keeps It Simple

Suzie Wong, located smack in the heart of Soi Cowboy, will again be one of the main daytime gathering points for Songkran 2026.

The bar plans to open at 2 p.m. with Happy Hour continuing until 9 p.m., outside only. Local beers will be priced at 130 baht, with lower prices on spirits as well.

Songkran at Suzie Wong sees perhaps the most staff participation of any bar on Soi Cowboy, so expect to find your favorite sweeties in short-shorts wielding supersoakers from atop the outside rail.

Suzie Wong’s sister bar, Baccara, also will open at 2 p.m. as well as Moonshine Joint, Jungle Jim’s, Fanny’s and Toy Bar.

Newcomers Join In

Rainbow, which sat our last year, will join the Songkran 2026 festivities for the first time, opening at noon with 90-baht beers.

Bad Beach, owned by the Crazy House Group, will take part in Songkran 2026. Bad Beach opened in October 2024 but did not participate last year. The new Supernova, which opened April 1, will not be open as there’s not enough staff yet. Bad Beach opens at 3 p.m.

Shark Starts Early

Shark, as usual, will open its outside patio again, but this year several hours earlier at 10 a.m., the first Soi Cowboy bar to open for Songkran 2026.

Shark is lining up bucket drink specials that sound more like Koh Tao Full Moon Party or Khao San Road than Soi Cowboy.

After 8 p.m., the go-go will switch back to normal operations with a three-night Bubble Fest party series featuring body painting and bubble shows.

Hot Lips Sits Out Songkran 2026

Maybe the biggest Songkran 2026 surprise is that Hot Lips, despite its large patio, will not open during the daytimes during Songkran 2026.

Its owner, the Stumble Inn Group, also operates two ladyboy bars on the street that also are expected to remain closed. The Stumble Group also stays closed on Buddhist holidays even though the rest of Soi Cowboy now opens.

Hungry? Look Elsewhere

Water-fighting is hard work but hungry warriors will have to look elsewhere for food as Spritz, Soi Cowboy’s last remaining restaurant, will not open until 6 p.m. during Songkran 2026, despite having a patio. In fact, the metal shutter will be down all three days.

With more bars participating than ever before, earlier opening times and cheap drink specials across the street, Songkran 2026 is shaping up to be one of the biggest daytime celebrations Soi Cowboy has seen in years.
