Pattaya’s ‘Mr. Egg’ Grabs Spotlight at YoloLiv Workshop in Bangkok Aug. 23

YoloLiv Workshop

Phil Ross, owner of Pattaya’s Rum Runner go-go bar and a longtime vlogger, is stepping onto a bigger stage this weekend — but not in his bar.

“Mr. Egg” as he’s known on YouTube and Kick, will be among featured speakers at YoloLiv’s “Touch and Try” livestreaming workshop in Bangkok on Saturday, bringing lessons from his years of live-streaming and recording videos to a tech-savvy crowd of creators and media professionals.

Ross, who pioneered YouTube videos about the Pattaya’s nightlife scene, has in recent months shifted some of his live work to Kick, where he now streams twice weekly. One of those programs is an in-real-life motorbike ride through Pattaya’s streets, while the other is a one-hour dance show broadcast live from Rum Runner, the Soi Buakhao bar he opened earlier this year.

Ross’s Kick channel, real_misteregg, has built an early following of around 500 viewers in its first month on Kick.

Building a Business Through Streaming

Ross stresses that streaming isn’t a gimmick, but a natural extension of how he promotes his venues.

“Some people have a train set, some people buy an Aston Martin or Harley Davidson. I got into live streaming,” he said.

For him, the YoloLiv broadcasts help connect international fans to Pattaya nightlife while driving attention to Rum Runner.

Guest Spot at YoloLiv “Touch and Try”

That practical experience has now brought him to the attention of YoloLiv, makers of the YoloBox portable live production system. Ross will share his insights at the company’s “Touch and Try” workshop on Aug. 23 at Thepmano, Ramkhamhaeng 21 in Bangkok.

The free, full-day event will feature product demonstrations, expert talks and hands-on sessions with YoloBox devices, including the Extreme model.

Attendees will rotate between three practical learning stations covering simulated studio setups, simple at-home vertical livestreams, and outdoor sports streaming.

Speakers alongside Ross include Frank Zhu, CEO of YoloLiv; Khun Aiman of Aiman Studio; Bright Chanin Kwanpruk of Asayhi Channel; and representatives from Canon Imaging Thailand and Sony Digital Camera Thailand.

Organizers say the day will include insights from leading Thai content creators, equipment trials with unreleased models, and networking over coffee breaks and lunch.

Ross, however, will be the only non-Thai speaker and definitely the only one representing Pattaya’s nightlife industry at the YoloLiv event. He’ll detail how livestreaming, done responsibly and without adult content, can extend a local entertainment business far beyond the four walls of a bar.

“The reason I’m doing it is because I have a business to promote, and also because it’s a bit of a hobby.”

From Pattaya to the World

For Ross, who has spent years documenting the city’s nightlife through his YouTube presence, Kick offers a chance to return to the immediacy that first drew him to video. Where edited uploads once gave outsiders a glimpse of Pattaya, now live broadcasts let them feel like they’re in the room.

That crossover — between local bar and global audience — is what he hopes to emphasize in Bangkok. He said he’s “just trying to get the vibe of a go-go bar into the homes of people”.
