Wild New Year’s Eve Parties Rock Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy

New Year's Eve parties

Sunday is New Yearโ€™s Eve and Bangkokโ€™s red-light areas are going to rockinโ€™

Massive numbers of tourists in town mean massive New Yearโ€™s Eve excitement, the most Bangkok has seen since before Covid-19.

The government also gave all nightspots permission to stay open until 6 a.m. on New Yearโ€™s Eve and many โ€“ certainly not all โ€“ spots on Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Patpong will take advantage of it.

Billboard in Nana every year goes until sun-up on New Yearโ€™s Eve. The difference this year is that it will be open to all and not just a private lock-in party after 3 a.m.

Red Dragon and Mandarin in Nana Plaza and Shark Club on Soi Cowboy are doing formal New Yearโ€™s Eve parties with free food and shows.

New Yearโ€™s Eve on Soi Cowboy

Last year Shark had a barbecue pig, but the menu may differ this weekend. All the bars also will see performances from the โ€œDrag Queen Thailandโ€ TV show as well as other sexy shows.

Also on Soi Cowboy, Lee Shamrock will be back at Suzie Wong, doing his musical schtick until 2024. The live music adds a great vibe to the Neon Alley.

Of the three red light areas, Nana is the best place to see the clock strike 12.

Bars empty out and a sea of humanity hits the courtyard with Silly String and confetti covering everyone.

Soi Cowboy has the same atmosphere, but being a long, open street, it doesnโ€™t have the same frenetic energy.

And Patpong is just too depleted to have much outdoor atmosphere.
