Thai Protests Turn Violent In Bangkok

BANGKOK DEATH TOLL RISES TO 20 WITH OVER 800 INJURED

BANGKOK, APRIL 10, 2010 – During Saturday night Bangkok witnessed the worst street violence in almost two decades.  Thai Army and Riot Police were locked into pitch battles with defiant Red-shirt UDD Protesters… 

The ongoing Thai prostests suddenly turned violent, as Thai troops tried to clear the Red-shirt protesters from the roads and intersections in Bangkok.  At least 20 people were killed, which includes UDD Red-shirt protesters, Thai soldiers and Hiro Muramoto, who was a Reuters TV cameraman.  Meanwhile, over 800 people are left injured.  These are dark days for Thailand and Thai authorities are desperately trying to take control of this escalating situation.  Below is a photo I took of the Red Rally at Central World…
