Pattaya gentlemen’s club The Badger on Tuesday will transform into a daytime café, one that might or might not features cats.
GentsClubs.com bossman Steven Acreman announced the change on his Facebook and detailed the changes on the group’s Discord server. He said The Badger’s staff of hostesses will relocate to the nearby Maggie May Darkside.
The Badger Switches Coats Again
This marks the second major format change for the location within a year. Previously known as The Booze Lounge, the venue was purchased by the GentsClubs.com group in late 2024 and rebranded as The Badger gentlemen’s club in January 2025.
The shift from live music to a more traditional gentlemen’s club format didn’t quite go as planned, despite the introduction of food specials and select beers. The group put The Badger up for sale, but Acreman said on Discord that when the deal “fell through”, he was happy to keep it and joked it would change to a cat café. Or maybe just a café without cats.
Operational Changes for the Café
The Badger’s new cafe format will operate weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering snacks, coffee and affordable beverages. A concept tentatively called “Fat Tom’s Bakery”, named after a group executive, will offer cakes and sweets.
Acreman plans to brighten the venue by removing the front window tints.
Music will be maintained at a notably low volume, aiming to create a relaxed and informal environment suitable for casual gatherings or remote working. Acreman indicated that he and Tom will frequently work on-site.
Community-Focused and Affordable
Drink prices will remain budget-friendly, with Chang beer continuing to be offered at 49 baht and other beers priced around 60 baht.
Acreman suggested the cafe would serve both regular patrons and the local community, humorously referencing its expected popularity with local residents seeking inexpensive morning refreshments.
Acreman invited locals and remote workers to use the cafe for casual coworking, promising affordability and comfort.
Future Plans and Venue Adjustments
While on Discord Acreman humorously suggested retaining a pool table as a scratching post for cats, he clarified that a potential feline-themed cafe element is still under consideration.
Upstairs accommodation will remain allocated to staff members from Maggie Mays Darkside, reflecting the new cafe’s aim to maintain a sober and professional atmosphere.
Acreman expressed openness to adapting the venue further based on feedback, stating the current cafe format will operate for a few months before additional decisions are made regarding its long-term direction.
