There’s a new king of go-go bar parties and it was crowned by angels and devils.
For years, the anniversary and Playmates go-go bar parties at Billboard and Butterflies set the standard for go-go bar parties, with free pizza-and-sides buffets, high-quality drink tumblers as gifts, VIP tables and the epic Babe of the Year pageants.
While those top-floor Nana Plaza go-go bar parties remain can’t-miss events, the crown for best go-go bar parties has passed to the group behind Red Dragon, Mandarin and Shark. If there were any doubts before, they were erased by the group’s three-bar bash Thursday for bossman Philippe’s birthday.
For the “Angels & Devils”-themed party, hostesses were dressed beautifully in white dresses with large white wings.
Dancers could choose to be either angelic or devilish, with the devils in black leatherette with tall black horns. The angels on stage were in wispy white, but they dispensed with the wings (to avoid injuries!)
But what sets the group’s parties apart is the additional entertainment and free food. Outside there was a massive gourmet sushi bar and, inside, a trio of stage shows.
In addition to the ladyboy “model show” and another with the bar’s own go-go dancers, management brought in DJ Fifa, a rising star on the Thai club circuit who last month played at the internationally organized Rolling Loud music festival in Pattaya.
There was also The Q Show, a top-finishing act from TV’s “Thailand’s Got Talent” who did a wild juggling act that saw them balance bar table on their head and juggle knives while standing on balls.
More Go-Go Bar Parties This Week
The parties keep on coming this next week with the massive Playmates party at Billboard and Butterflies in Nana Plaza Dec. 14, and Full Moon parties at Tycoon, Red Dragon, Mandarin and Shark Dec. 15. The Playmates party, which doubles as a birthday bash for the American owner of both bars, sees all the ladies done up in Playboy Bunny-esque outfits. It’s a lower-key affair than the Babe of the Year pageants at the anniversary parties, but still one to circle the calendar for. And, for Sunday’s full moon festivals, body paint will be the order of the day at both bars.
