Christmas on Soi Cowboy and in Nana Plaza was a sleighride of sexy fun, with ladies dolled up as enchanting elves, tourists rubbing shoulders and two Americans who went full-on Santa Claus.
It was a sea of red with white-fur trim up and down Nana Plaza, with PR staffers greeting people in dresses and Santa caps. Inside the bars, the costumes were too cold for the North Pole, but perfect for Thailand, which saw temperatures of 22C/74F on Christmas Eve and a tad warmer on Christmas Night.
Outfits ranged from simple red bikinis and headwear in Mandarin Club to expensive holly-green bras and holly-accented miniskirt wraps at Billboard and Butterflies. In Red Dragon, the ladies were all done out in the red body suits with holly-green belts as seen in Digital a-Go-Go’s holiday photos and on the Red Dragon Facebook page.
Christmas on Soi Cowboy
Christmas on Soi Cowboy saw lots of Santa dresses among the PR staff on the street, from Baccara to Shark Go-Go Club to Cowboy 2. But perhaps the wildest sight during Christmas on Soi Cowboy was that of two large Americans dressed in full Santa suits and carrying sacks of goodies.
The boys, who run a holiday-party service called SantaBangkok.com, handed out candy to the girls … and condoms to the boys! They said this is the third year in a row they landed Rudolph’s sleigh in the Neon Alley for Christmas on Soi Cowboy.
While it was all-out Festivus for Christmas on Soi Cowboy and in Nana Plaza, Patpong was more akin to the classic “A Visit by St. Nicholas” poem. Patpong Soi 1 and 2 might have read like this:
“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through The Pong;
“Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;”
The Night Market was still, and few bars even put in the effort for Christmas. Radio City was an exception, with Sexy Santa greeters outside, green-and-red bikini-clad dancers filling that stage and the club decorated beautifully. The only other sign it was Christmas in Patpong were the PR staff at Kinky Girls.
Digital a-Go-Go was in all three of Bangkok’s red-light areas for Christmas on Soi Cowboy, Nana and Patpong. Check out the photos from the merry holiday!
