FRIDAY FEEDING FRENZY!
Several Bangkok bars offer a special buffet to get Friday night off to a good start.ย This week I feature Det 5 Bar, which is located about half way down Sukhumvit Soi 8 on the left-hand side.ย Det 5 is a spacious bar and restaurant, which also has a garden area.ย The โFriday Feeding Frenzyโ is FREE and starts at 7:00pm.ย The buffet includes a selection of both Thai and Western dishes.ย Friends and I have tried a selection of the Thai food and it is very good.ย For lovers of farang food, the Guinness beef stew is delicious!
FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER IN THE BULLโS HEAD PUB
The Bullโs Head Pub is hosting a disco this Friday, August 28th.ย If you want to put your dancing shoes on and enjoy a session of โFriday Night Feverโ this is the place to be.ย DJ Paul Jackson will make sure that you dance the night away.ย Incidentally, also at the Bullโs Head Pub, the cash prize to โOpen The Boxโ is 21,000 baht.ย For further information, ask the friendly farang manager Billy.ย Check it out!

PATTAYA BAR OWNERS FIGHT FOR LATER CLOSING HOURS
The bars and clubs in Pattaya continue to close at 3:00am, which has angered some local bar and nightclub owners.ย For those nightlife operators that rely on a late night trade, this is seriously affecting their businesses.ย Yesterday morning (August 25th), local bar owners were invited to attend an address by Khun Saenee, the Governor of Chonburi Province.ย Unfortunately, Khun Saenee could only repeat what other Thai officials had said previously.ย However, he has promised to present the issue of later closing times to the Interior Ministry.ย It is thought that a change in the licensing operating hours might be necessary.ย Pattaya is already granted later closing hours than Bangkok, but Pattaya bar owners stressed that due to the economic crisis and therefore, a steep drop in tourism, they are fighting to stay in business.ย Meanwhile, the battle for later closing hours in Pattaya continues.
PATTAYA POLICE RAID COYOTEES GO-GO BAR
Earlier this week, Pattaya Police launched a raid upon Coyotees Go-Go Bar in Soi Marine Plaza.ย The Australian co-owner known as โTJโ was arrested along with a bunch of go-go dancers.ย The owners of Coyotees have been charged with knowingly employing an underage Thai girl, and a Cambodian girl who does not possess a work permit.ย One further charge is prostitution on the premises.ย The case continues.
NANA PLAZA โ WELCOME TO THE NEON JUNGLE
Sometimes I am asked where you can get a nightcap in Nana Plaza after 2:00am.ย Well, there might not be any go-go girls still dancing, but the three show โnโ go-go bars in Nana Plaza that were mentioned IN THIS COLUMN will try to accommodate you for a nightcap.ย Of course, many of you guys will know the three go-go bars I am talking about.ย And, as if it is arranged as a matter of convenience, they are all located on the left-hand side as you enter Nana Plaza.
If you are doing the Rainbow rounds in Nana Plaza, Rainbow 1 and Rainbow 4, are still the best of the bunch.ย Currently, Rainbow 1 has a great line-up of attractive go-go girls.ย Even though the Rainbow Go-Go Bars are often branded โJap Trapsโ donโt overlook the fact that some dolly birds in Rainbow 1 will go with farangs.ย By a wide margin, Rainbow 4 still has the most go-go dancers.ย However, although Rainbow 4 has the largest quantity of go-go girls, they certainly donโt have the highest quality.ย Judging the Q Factor (a quantity of quality) by a per girl ratio, I think bars like Rainbow 1 and Mandarin are higher on quality.ย One big advantage that Rainbow 4 has is two go-go stages full of dancing dollies, and that will always attract the masses.ย Upon visiting Rainbow 2, I find it is quieter than before, but that means you can get a good seat to observe the go-go stage.ย But, I have to say with Rainbow 2 being the original โJap Trapโ I never have been much of a fan.ย Iโve always thought Rainbow 2 is a dark and dingy place that never seems to create much of an atmosphere.ย Rainbow 3 has taken on some new go-go dancers, and they do have a bunch of cute dolly birds.ย In addition, Rainbow 3 has introduced some coyote dancers.ย These are the first coyote dancers in Nana Plaza.ย They wear tight tops with hot pants and they dance enticingly at the edge of the stage.
