For Fahrenheit Pattaya’s owner, running a big go-go on Walking Street Pattaya is very much a case of trying “keep up with the Joneses”.
When the folks behind Pin-Up opened XS in December, they created a bar with a very bright, very flashy façade, with two decent-sized LED screens on the outside.
Fahrenheit Pattaya, next door, always had a big, beautiful sign, but ownership felt they needed to respond to XS’ excess and last month unveiled what is, hands down, the most-impressive exterior on Walking Street.
In addition to an even-bigger sign – with a logo that will require all new t-shirts and other merchandise – there is a huge LED screen displaying the impressive lady photos from Fahrenheit Pattaya and Digital Mints.
Digital Mints does the photography and marketing for the French group that owns Fahrenheit and Shark Club in Pattaya while their partner, Digital a-Go-Go handles their Bangkok clubs, Red Dragon Club & Lounge, Mandarin Club and Shark Soi Cowboy.
Fahrenheit Pattaya Better Than XS, Pin-Up
Readers frequently describe Pin-Up and XS as “hostile” and “tense” and walk out despite their stellar lineups. Fahrenheit Pattaya, on the other hand, universally is described as relaxed and refreshing.
The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and fun. Everyone is relaxed and enjoys their night. People can sit where they like without getting hassled by male Thai security thugs with laser points and sour faces.
The layout of Fahrenheit puts the stage dancers close to the tables and the narrow walkways mean there are is always a buzz of scantily clad girls, funny service ladies and tipsy customers hamming it up.
The close quarters is like a cool Roppongi, Tokyo club. Close, intimate and vibrant. The comparison with XS next door is night and day.
There’s really no reason to ever go to XS or Pin-Up. But don’t miss Fahrenheit. And manager Nils is a terrific host.
