The teams behind Shark Go-Go Club and Palace a-Go-Go will open Geisha Pattaya May 30 where the recently closed Sensations operated since 2012.

Geisha Pattaya, while similarly named, has no connection to Geisha in in Bangkok’s Nana Plaza. The owners of Shark and Fahrenheit are leading the breakneck effort to the new club only weeks after Sensations closed.

Geisha Pattaya Sneak Peek

We spent some time in Geisha Pattaya Friday night and the Sensations look hasn’t changed all that much, outside of new seating, lighting and sound. There are all-new sofas and barstools are stacked and waiting.

Some of the Sensation signage is still up, showing there’s still lots to be done before its planned May 30 opening.

Sensations’ Long History

Sensations, which began life as a “coyote” club before pretty much everyone adopted the format, had been running since August 2012. Like most Walking Street go-go bars, it had a short run as one of the best bars with the best girls on stage. But the lack of nudity and higher, at the time, drink prices meant it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Sensations tried numerous things since the coronavirus pandemic to boost revenue, including opening a Sensations steak restaurant next door. The closure came quickly, with mamasans still recruiting girls on Facebook as late as May 12.

All of the ladies from Sensations can now be found at Shark across Walking Street until Geisha Pattaya opens.

Geisha Pattaya the Next Walking Street ‘Sensation’

Geisha Pattaya – reportedly bought for an eye-watering 33 million baht – will add even more razzle-dazzle to Walking Street with all new LED frontage and large sign, hallmarks of the Shark-Fahrenheit lineage. The Palace Group, a partner in the project, also has spruced up its namesake bar and sister club Bliss with eye-catching exteriors.

Since relocating from Soi 15, Shark has becoming Pattaya’s top go-go bar, with the best layout, sound. lighting and ladies on Walking Street. Indeed, while Walking Street (and Pattaya in whole) was dead slow Friday night – with some bars having zero customers – Shark was packed.

Geisha Pattaya is sure to become the next sensation, even under a new name.
