The much-anticipated Bangkok Food Fest will take place at Odeon Circle, Yaowarat, Chinatown May 27-28.

Part of the city’s “12 Months 12 Festivals” campaign, this food festival is all set to excite taste buds and breathe fresh life into Bangkok’s vibrant food scene, said Bangkok Deputy Gov. Sanon Wangsrangboon, revealing the culinary extravaganza is on the horizon.

Gastronomic Buffet from 75 Chefs

The Bangkok Food Fest promises to be a truly diverse culinary event. Foodies will have a chance to sample a range of dishes from 75 top chefs, each representing the unique flavors of Bangkok’s various neighborhoods. From traditional Thai cuisine to adventurous fusion dishes, the festival is set to showcase the rich tapestry of Bangkok’s food landscape.

What you can expect at Bangkok Food Fest:

  • A variety of foods, desserts, and snacks from 75 chefs
  • Street performances, cooking demonstrations, mini concerts
  • Eating contests and a special seminar
  • The opportunity to win gift vouchers and discounts at restaurants
  • A chance to vote for the best booth in the fair for a dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River

The festival will feature foods from 10 famous neighbourhoods known for their unique cuisines, including:

  • Banglamphu area
  • Khlong San area
  • Talat Phlu area
  • Banthat Thong District
  • Bang Rak
  • Ari area – Saphan Kwai
  • Chokchai 4 – Lad Phrao (Wang Hin)

Reviving Tourism, Boosting the Local Economy

The Bangkok Food Fest is a key part of the city’s strategy to reinvigorate tourism and boost the local economy after the Covid-19 lockdown. “We hope that the festival will help boost the local economy of Bangkok communities, and expect to hold bigger events in the following years,” Sanon said.

A Sneak Peek at Bua Loi Parinya Restaurant

Ahead of the Bangkok Food Fest, the Bua Loi Parinya Restaurant hosted a press tour offering an advanced taste of the upcoming food fest. The press event drew reporters, influencers, and content creators, offering tantalizing samples from six restaurants from the Yaowarat and Banthat Thong neighborhoods.
