New Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord Saturday at Soi 8 Branch

Buddy's Scandinavian Smorgasbord

Buddy’s Bar & Grill is famous in Bangkok for its monthly barbecues at its Soi 22 branch. But now there’s a new monthly feast that shouldn’t be missed: Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord.

The Buddy’s Scandinavian Smogasbord debuted in March at Buddy’s latest venue on Sukhumvit Road at Soi 8 and it was a hit, so much so that April’s smorgasbord got even bigger.

Now a monthly event, the Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord will be held from noon to 3 p.m. April 22. It’s an all-you-can-eat (while it lasts!) buffet with foods that Norwegians, Finns, Swedes and anyone into delicious dishes will love.

As was the case last month, the smorgasbord will feature marinated salmon with dill sauce, three kinds of herring, fish filets with tartar sauce, hard-boiled eggs with caviar, smoked ham, salami, liver pΓ’tΓ©, roast beef, tartelettes, roasted pork, Swedish meatballs, Swedish hash, potato salad, boiled dill potatoes, assorted cheeses, bread, crackers and assorted fruit.

But that’s not all: This month Buddy is adding boiled shrimp and real Swedish pork sausage.

A buffet like this your typical Bangkok hotel or high-end restaurant would run into the thousands of baht. But at Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord is only 480 baht, an incredible deal.

Buddy’s Soi 8 is also the place to get Carlsberg beer on tap to wash all that good food down. And you can top it off with shots of Akvavit, that popular herb-flavored grain/potato-alcohol drink from Norway.

Get in early to get all the great food at the Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord before it runs out.

Buddy’s Scandinavian Smorgasbord Only the Start

Buddy’s Soi 8 opened late last year, becoming the chain’s fifth location in Bangkok. There also are Buddy’s bars on Soi 22 opposite the Holiday Inn, on Sukhumvit Road at Soi 20, on Sukhumvit at Soi 89 and on Silom Road as you head toward Chong Nonsi.

The Buddy’s Soi 89 location recently doubled in size, taking over a shophouse next door and adding a game room. And Buddy’s Silom is tripling in size, with its extension now all but complete.

All Buddy’s locations have a huge menu of American and European food, from burgers to Texas chili to pizza to Mexican fare to Swedish meatballs. There also is a huge breakfast menu and, at Soi 20, a custom hot dogs menu where you can build your own dog from a variety of sausages and toppings.

Every bar also has something special to offer on the drink front. Soi 8 has Carlsberg on tap while Silom now has Stella Artois on draft.
