Fire at Catflaps Pattaya Causes ฿200K Damage, No Injuries

Fire at Catflaps Pratamnak Pattaya

An overnight fire at Catflaps Pratamnak, a popular Pattaya gentlemen’s club in Pattaya, will close the bar for weeks, but no one was hurt and damage was contained to the ground floor.

The fire at Catflaps sparked around 2 a.m. Monday, after closing time but flame-retardant soundproofing in the ceiling halted flames from spreading upstairs.

Ironically, Catflaps last month had just gotten a summertime refresh with new paint across the bar.

Bug Zapper Responsible for Fire at Catflaps

Management said security cameras showed that a “bug zapper” short-circuited, sparking the fire at Catflaps. Damage is estimated at approximately 200,000 baht. Catflaps’ full reopening will come in August.

Before the fire at Catflaps, The bar had installed flame retardant soundproof ceiling tiles to isolate upstairs areas, a step management says “was lucky” since the flare-up was limited downstairs.

With repairs about to begin, they said additional fire-safety measures will be added to make Catflaps the safest gents club in the city.

The bar’s staff, including Catflaps’ resident hostesses, are being temporarily relocated. They can be found at The Camel  Toe on Soi Khopai 10 and Free Willy on Soi Regional Land Office.

The Taco Fridays at Catflaps will be hosted at Free Willy until Catflaps reopens.
