Bangkok & Pattaya Bar Closures

The Thai Prime Minister has made a flip-flop on his statement that the entertainment venues will not have to close. This is in order to prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading further.

Just two days later he has now stated that all bars and nightclubs in Bangkok and Pattaya, will have to close from March 18th until March 31st.

Stickman recently said about the Thai government that left hand does not know what the right hand is doing and this just proves the point.

No doubt this is a devastating blow for entertainment venues in Bangkok and Pattaya. It means multitudes of employees, including the barmy army of bargirls, will most probably be laid off with unpaid leave.

One way around this is entertainment establishments that have restaurant licenses. For example, pubs with restaurant licenses can continue to do trade, which makes a mockery of the whole concept.

There are two questions that remain in my mind. Will this soon include restaurants, public transportation systems and shopping malls? Also, what about the rest of Thailand?

Pattaya to close all entertainment venues, such as bars, nightclubs and massage shops until the end of the month
